Another dreadlock hair day. When I first spotted this woman she was looking down, and from that angle her hair was a magnificent towering beacon! It’s all her own hair – I asked. It’s kind of like sixties beehive meets 21st century Aaaah!!! – in a good way.

This woman has so much going on: the wool and knits and canvas, leather, silver. What surprised me most was the stone – a polished piece of aragonite beams from her forehead, suspended by a leather cord. The circular shape is reflected in her great heavy silver earrings. Beautiful feathers frame her face, but they are difficult to distinguish from her Easy Rider hair, which also is adorned with colourful objects – I’m not sure what, but the effect is very cool. She bought the bag in Mexico. (photo Feb 15)
