I saw these delicious candy-apple red shoes coming towards me and knew I had to make my move. She bought these stunners in Vienna and lamented that it’s hard to find red shoes here, especially as fine as these ones. The hat is fantastic as well and she has begun wearing them more often, not only for looks, but also because they are a great occasional substitute for umbrellas. Stylewise, this woman said she enjoys wearing colour. See her in front of this greenery you can sense that spring is just around the corner.
We stopped at almost the same time, pointed at each other, and said, “Ooo, I like your coat.” This amazing coat is by local label Papillon, the bag is Astro Satchel, and were you to see inside her coat, you would love her strings of pearls, one of which featured a clip-on bird hand-made in silver by her friend and inspired by Frida Kahlo. This woman bought her coat for practicality – she needed something short enough for cycling when she goes to Amsterdam soon. (Ah, to live in a place where cycle-wear is defined by such style!) She is an artist specializing in assemblage, photography, and collage, and is a founding director of the Eastside Culture Crawl. I encourage you to visit her website: www.valeriearntzen.com. Beautiful work!
Here I’m loving the multiple scarves with the wrap and the hat and gloves on this woman, those touches of earthy colour with the black. The hat and boots with the skinny pants give this outfit a mod twist, in part because of her natural electric energy. This woman lives in Sechelt and I caught her walking with her daughter. I’ve included a closeup clip of this woman’s eyes – aren’t they beautiful?
