I love this vintage cavalry look and wondered as I approached this man if he were an officer of some kind. No – he’s a bicycle courier. This man asked himself how they used to go about delivering mail, and here you have it. Definitely a cut above the standard spandex and baggy short attire of many couriers. Note the velvety leather boots, the crossed
sword rifle pins on his lapel and the seatbelt latch on his shoulder strap, which makes taking his courier bag off and on much easier than the backpack style shoulder sling. This man is originally from Calgary Edmonton.

Calgarians know about hats. I want one like that ….
Well well well. Nice bumping into you again the other day. I had no idea this site would be so organized and in depth. The girl from mexico in dark blue or black really has it together at a minimum. Good look. This wasn’t the most photogenic picture I’ve had taken, but then I realized you were after the outfits so it didn’t really matter. I thought you were lost, had some kind of look on your face when I met u the first time. No matter tho. Couple corrections tho. First, the lapel pins are rifles, not swords. (Don’t get me wrong, I would prefer swords, but scince the cavalry has become an obsolete unit, they have replaced them with rifles.) And second, this guy is originally from Edmonton, not Calgary, but I suppose us rednecks from Alberta all look alike. For more unique accessories (lapel pins, patches, badges, etc) such as the stuff I slung together on the stetson hat and the like, check out Camoflage on granville at about smithe. I’ve managed to put a few other psuedo military officers looks together at a reasonable price outta that shop. Look forward to running into yas again, but for right now I gotta ride like Paul Revere here. Chow. Mr Arlo
Hi Arlo,
Love your comment. The flash was firing on my camera because I changed the batteries and it went back to default, also known as Bad Mode, otherwise, your pic would have come out better, technically at least. You thought I was a tourist? I thought you were a sheriff! Thanks for the corrections and shopping info. I like swords better, but rifles will do. 🙂 See you again.
Terry said (the librarian) “Cool Hat!” but could not guess the line of work. I will get the girls to check out the site. Jessica still sports some of your effects lying around SW Ontario. She wears them really well. Is it part of the DNA? You always did have that knack with the uniform right back to Burnaby. I noticed it turn heads even back then. You misse your first career as a car port cop in the condos. You could have got the gig by acclamation with the SS shaded look you had happnin then.
