This woman looks fabulous! Her hat was hand-made by Toronto-based artisan Julie Sinden and purchased at the One-of-a-Kind show. She credits her beautiful coat and trousers to her personal talented seamstress. Her look is topped off with popping-red nails, and colourful and intriguing accessories, including the arachnid pin which she bought locally, closeup below. This woman said that she hasn’t had a photo taken that she liked since 1985. I hope I’ve started a new winning streak!
New Winning Streak?

I always show the photo I’ve taken to the people I shoot for my blog, and if they don’t like it, I will take another one. Fortunately, more often than not, they are quite happy with it, which is a big “Whew!” moment for me! This woman obviously knows how to put together a great outfit, with unique and flattering accessories.
I would love to show the photos to my subjects too, but sadly my camera is an older model with a viewfinder that doesn’t show detail so I don’t really know what kind of picture I’ve taken until I get home. I alway take a second photo for backup. I think it’s time I went shopping for a new camera!
A good street-style-photographer – as you are, Mel – doesn’t have to worry about the quality of her taken pictures. I haven’t seen a single bad one yet on your blog. And I bet that fact won’t change. Subjects – if they get the chance to – use to have a different way to look at themselves, than you do by picking them for your special occasion. That’s what makes your Blog so special – your way of eye-decision.
So don’t bother about shopping a new cam, unless the Vancouver fashion-industry is sponsoring one. Your initiative is worth it – hope they will recognise that sooner or later. So keep on “keeping an eye on”…
I wish you – as ever – a successful day.
Best regards from the Lake Constance
