69, mini, mink, purple, Sharon, Sonya Rykiel, women

This is Sharron. Check out those gorgeous gams. Would you believe she’s 69, still rockin’ her short shorts and minis, and why not with legs like that? Today she had on a Sonya Rykiel skirt with her signature accessories. She was also wearing a lovely violet mink-puff hairpiece on her coat collar and another one on her wrist. Originally from New Zealand, Sharron is a straight-talking, fun-loving woman, and it’s always a pleasure to chat with her over coffee. Gorgeous. [Edit: Oops, it’s Sharron, not Sharon]

My Two New Friends

These women were exploding with positive energy. When I walked into this shop they immediately lobbed a compliment my way; of course, I lobbed a couple right back! Husbands and family off their hands for the day, these friends of 40 years were out for some fun – shopping, chatting, having coffee, and misbehaving in general. The woman on the right bought that fantastic polka-dot dress in 1972 and it still fits like a dream – you should see those shoulder pads. And the woman left was wearing some fabulous oversized jewellery and a lovely shawl to balance out that divine collar. She paints and lives in Mexico six months of the year. A kind passer-by took this photo for us. Cheers, ladies! You made my day.

Alexander McQueen, corsetiere, ethereal, France, jewel tones, patterned coat, women

I saw this woman in the vibrant coat across the street waiting for the light to change. The coat was colourful, yes, but she also had an ethereal quality that made the crowd around her look like scrambling ants. Originally from France, she is a corsetiere in training. Her instructor there once crafted corsets for Alexander McQueen, so we can only imagine how superlative her wares will be. She doesn’t have a place you can purchase them yet but she’ll email me when she does. Her multicoloured coat was made in Spain and purchased online from France.
