Colour in the rain, it’s a great sight. This woman’s wonderful red-and-black-checked tights with the red feather necklace accent were just the punch I was looking for. Her army-style peacoat with its multitude of buttons is also visually interesting, a find from Jacob. She playfully tops off her look with high-tops. This Vancouverite is a photographer.

Vivid blue and bursts of red – such a unique and beautiful style she has. The half-hat with her long hair and the soft drapery of her scarf convey a haunting 1920s quality for me, but then she shakes it up with the addition of feather hair extensions. The burgundy/rust scarf also makes the red of the hat pop. And from the coat, the truest of true-ocean blue, peeks a startling red accordion-pleated red chiffon skirt with a black border. Wow. The neutral black tights and shoes anchor this outfit perfectly. This woman works in retail with an international clientele.

Jan Gates, photographer, artist, and wordsmith. I like the chunky shoes with the red in the necklaces. The smock with the rolled up jeans looks comfy and defines her style. And you’ll see whimsy with the feather earrings.
