Her hair stopped me. Fabulous! And she knows how to strike a pose. This woman has such a bold, confident, fun style, which she described as modern fifties with a twist. She was a joy to encounter after the Grey Cup casual weekend. You can see a glimpse of the houndstooth vest under her coat. The variety of sheens, the grounding of the black tights and boots, the dash of matching lipstick – marvelous. This woman works in the hair industry but is moving towards a career in fashion.
Silly me, I thought her bag was a purse but it is her lunch carrier. Even so, I still think it makes a great bag, especially with her outfit. She is living in Vancouver now, relocated here from San Diego. I liked the fifties feeling of her dress. She was determined to wear it with the yellow sweater as her “final pull for summer.”
What I love about this photo is the vividness of that brilliant candy-apple red against the greenish hue in the window. Happenstance. The style and colour of this woman’s dress with the black flats conveyed a wonderful fifties swing vibe; she admitted an affinity for the era. If you look closely you’ll also see (maybe) red-wine highlights in her hair. I would like to see her twirl in this outfit.
