I was having hot chocolate at my favourite coffee shop when this woman walked by – of course I let my drink get cold while I ran out to snap her photo. Her hair is arresting! – I adore it – but everything about what she is wearing affirms her unique style, especially the socks sticking up over the boots. The slap of red lipstick is also just right. Wonderful! This woman would probably bring a burst of life to anything she throws on.

The flowy shirt-dress she picked up in London (UK), where she was living until recently. Then you have the black knee socks with startling bursts of colour, and a vivid blue carrier bag. You can also see the strap of a brilliant amber bag, which I espied when she was walking away, for yet another colour pop. Anchoring the ensemble is a classic pea coat, black tights, and strappy brown boots. In terms of style she likes to “mix it up” and – guess what – she likes colour. Vancouver is home now, but this Canadian has lived all over the country, including Toronto and Montreal. Love her style.
