Her eyes were arresting. In fact, I’ve included a closeup below they are so gorgeous with this bold and sweet hairstyle and her beautiful red bow smile. I love how she has lined her eyes and used blue shadow to enhance the vintage vibe of her lacy collar and the gold locket. This woman studied film and intends eventually to work in the industry. She often shops for vintage clothing online at Etsy.

I spotted this woman in a downtown shopping centre, and while I prefer outdoor shots I couldn’t resist this one. Isn’t her capelet beautiful, so feminine with delicate lace trim, the snowy collar and pom-pom ties, and petal-soft pinks, which are mirrored in the petal-like bows of her shoes. She bought this piece at a Japanese shop. And look how she has countered the softness with the bold red bag and black tights – wonderful! This woman is a fashion merchandiser.

Shots on a Theme: Spring Flowers and Lace

I knew there was something missing from this Home and Garden show – spring flowers. How fortunate that this woman showed up! What a breath of fresh air she was with her bird-of-paradise hair, lemonade purse, vivid red shopping bag, and matching russet tunic and pants. She bought the latter at Miwa on Granville Island where, she said, they will custom-size your clothes for no additional charge.

Just after I left the Home and Garden show I came across these flowers being photographed near the library. They looked so cheerful and bright – I couldn’t help muscling in on the action.

Then the final shot of the day – these cool lace things. There was not much conversation here so I don’t know if these are cuffs on her leggings or toppers on her socks. Who cares? They’re pretty cool.

Gotta’ love Vancouver – snow one day, spring flowers and lace the next.
