Aura of Poetry and Literature

duo, hair, necklace, poetry

I saw this couple relaxing on a bench and I instantly thought of poetry and literature. Why is that, I wonder? It looks like they are sitting in a garden, when actually they are just a block away from the Occupy Vancouver event at the Art Gallery.  An ethereal cloud of hair frames the woman’s face and I imagine the man casually flinging this familiar red scarf around his neck before going out the door. Be sure to pay special attention to the woman’s necklace, below. It’s brilliant! And she made it. Sadly, her work is underground, not available in the shops.

These boots were made for walking, at least by this woman who sparkled with energy as she strode down Hornby Street this morning. Have you ever seen a lovelier pair of pear-coloured boots with ivory laces? She has also pulled together a whimsical yet assured combination of stripes and animal print, which goes perfectly with her unique footwear, then topped everything off beautifully with a bold necklace in muted colours and a large brown leather bag. This woman is a Vancouverite, originally from Australia.

There is so much going on with this outfit – that’s why I love it. This woman was wondering if she was too mismatched, but the variety of the stripes and necklaces over the white blouse, the brown boots with the black bag, and the coat with its detailing and intricate hook-and-eye closure are visually delightful.
