I passed by this woman on the sidewalk and cursed that I missed pulling her over. By chance, she happened to stop at my coffee shop…so here she is!

I love this clean, puffy white down coat – cinched at the waist so brilliantly with her own belt – and her interesting pairing with leggings, hat, scarf, and runners; the subtle pinks pull everything together beautifully. This woman was born in Russia, spent lots of time in Israel, and now calls Vancouver home. She is currently designing a line of children’s wear.

Pretty with a Wee Punch

I spotted this woman in a downtown shopping centre, and while I prefer outdoor shots I couldn’t resist this one. Isn’t her capelet beautiful, so feminine with delicate lace trim, the snowy collar and pom-pom ties, and petal-soft pinks, which are mirrored in the petal-like bows of her shoes. She bought this piece at a Japanese shop. And look how she has countered the softness with the bold red bag and black tights – wonderful! This woman is a fashion merchandiser.

It’s Italian, That’s her Secret

Classic, and what makes it come alive for me is the pop of pink in her hat. She described her look as “just West Coast,” but, no, there’s more to it than that, hard to pinpoint. Then she said that most of her clothes are Italian. Aaah, but of course. No sequins or bangles, but clean, beautiful cuts worn with confidence. Love it.
