This woman was sitting in a little style bubble on the Vancouver Art Gallery steps selling vintage jewellery. She looked so relaxed and pretty in this rare spot of sunshine wearing her wide-brimmed hat with the big flower and her maxi red dress and red shoes. With the sunglasses and leather jacket she projected the look of a hip thrifter. She says that she loves vintage clothing and will pursue a career as a fashion designer.

I had to do a U-turn on the sidewalk, style struck by these fabulous collar points and cuffs, and the bold, bright-blue polka dots. I like how this woman wears her top untucked for an extra peek at those popping dots. I wasn’t surprised to learn that it is a vintage piece – it’s hard to find such distinctive styling new. The parachute skirt is also distinctive and the cerise shoes are the perfect colour counterpoint.

Big flowers! This has got to be a favourite photo. There’s really not much I want to say, which is unusual, except that the light in the parkade reminds me of an aqua moon. Poetry. Gorgeous!!
